Rainy, raw, windy breaking eventually into a beautiful evening.

Still in Fairbanks

BUT! Drove 400 miles round trip today

We decided to do a bit of exploring on a road Gary & I haven’t been on so we packed a lunch and off we went. Our destination was a small little town to the north and east of Fairbanks called Circle. It took us four hours to get out there and saw some beautiful mountainous terrain. It was very primitive, even the paved  road became a muddy mess as we made our way out to the very end of route 6 where the mighty Yukon River flows.

At one point we were driving through clouds!

We were hoping to see more wildlife but did get a glimpse of this young moose.

The town might be small but it has its own post office!!

The Yukon River is wide and beautiful. Too bad we didn’t have time to fish!

Gary’s truck by the end of it was in dyer need of a bath after our trip “off roading” which he took care of when we got back to our KOA.
