Will we ever get tired of seeing mountains and water??

The answer is an adamant - no. Every turn has stunning views that required just one more picture!

We were supposed to be touring Denali NP today and did stop in on our way by just to make sure they were still closed and they confirmed that Wednesday is their projected date of opening. (You’ll be fine Deb, Jeff, Jimmy and Lisa!)

We continued south on the Parks highway which offers spectacular views of Mount McKinley aka Denali which means “the great one”. This was our view of the great one today:

This area is a serious hiking mecca where you can find plenty of hiking trails but the most challenging is Denali which is known to be even more difficult than Mount Everest due to its ascent. This board, which was posted at a cafe we stopped at, gives all the important information for hikers but I love the  quote at the bottom of the board,

“You can’t look at that mountain without worshipping “ ~ Mary Cary

Despite the weather, the cancellation and the inability to see Denali (only 30% do) we are enjoying the journey!
